Igniting change when you aren’t “in charge”
One of the most common questions I get is, “When you see something that could be better but don’t have the power to fix it, what do you do?”
Thought Partner
Recently, I’ve had a lot of time to reflect, and I’ve realized that I need someone on my team who can help me think through challenges and ideas in a low-pressure, low-stakes environment.
8 months alcohol-free
I’ve learned so much about discipline and health, and ultimately, this challenge has taught me that I don’t have to do something just because everyone else is doing it.
The importance of reflection
It used to be rare for me to slow down and appreciate the progress, but I’m grateful to my coach for helping me see the value of taking time to pause once a quarter for a review with my team.
Bouncing back
No matter how insignificant the failure may seem—and no matter if it’s in our control—it can still feel really bad. Big or small, in our control or not, we have to bounce back

Resilience Resume

The next chapter

How to have a difficult conversation
I’ve learned that whenever I get up the courage to lean into a tough convo, I immediately see the trust on my team grow as well as their confidence in me as a leader.
A week of listening and learning
I am thankful for a week of listening, learning, and reflecting. But I know that what happens after we learn is what matters most.
I am white and I am privileged
My heart is heavy. I stand in solidarity with the fight against racism. BLACK LIVES MATTER!

Building trust through virtual meetings
Remote work and virtual meetings are here to stay. So how do we get really good at building, strengthening, and maintaining trust from behind computer screens?
10 Things I Wish I’d Known When I Graduated
It’s always been a dream of mine to give a commencement speech, so let’s just pretend that’s what’s happening here.
Permission to pivot
While there’s a great deal that’s out of our control, there’s also a lot that we can control. What if we could look at this time as an opportunity?
In a time of crisis
May we never forget how much our actions matter, and may we never forget what we see.
